This study will be used to help inform the UK Government on how NTM costs currently affect British agri-food businesses that trade with the EU and NI.
The interview will cover:
- Current trade with the EU and NI for selected products of interest
- Your organisation’s role in terms of trade with the EU and NI
- Impacts of NTMs on exports – including Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) and Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) measures) and other NTMs (e.g. Packaging, Organic goods, Freeport procedures, Excise control, or VAT arrangements) affecting trade.
- Your views on the estimated costs of compliance with NTMs – both in terms of the categories mentioned above and any additional administrative and overhead costs for trade with the EU and NI.
- Other NTM impacts – including changes that your organisation or members have implemented for GB-EU trade and GB-NI trade if additional NTMs are introduced.
Further information on the above points will be provided in advance of the discussion. It is anticipated that the discussion would last 45-60 minutes and will take place via a video call (e.g. using MS Teams or Zoom) or via telephone (at a mutually convenient time and date) in September or early October 2024.
