Kirsty Wainwright has over 12 years of experience in senior operational roles across multiple industries, including leather manufacture, FMCG and venture capital. Kirsty started her career as an Environmental Chemist before moving into Quality and Continuous Improvement. Following this, Kirsty then moved into Production Leadership roles at Glenmorangie and Beam Suntory.
In 2022 Kirsty joined Eden Mill St Andrews as Head of Packaging and Supply Chain and a year later progressed into the role of Head of Operations. In this role, Kirsty is responsible for all aspects of distilling, bottling, procurement, supply chain, compliance, safety and HR, and sits as part of the company’s senior leadership team. In addition to this, Kirsty is also heavily involved in the construction of the brand-new distillery and visitor centre in St Andrews.
Kirsty has a deep interest in people development and sustainability, chairing the Eden Mill sustainability committee, spearheading the company’s commitment to Net Zero. Recently, Kirsty led on establishing a partnership with MiAlgae, who will use the effluent from the distillery as feedstock to produce sustainable Omega 3, a process which will save millions of tonnes of fish each year.
Working and supporting the local community is something very important to Kirsty and she has led several initiatives across her career to help support bringing younger generations into the work force, establishing apprenticeship programmes and most recently supporting the Career Ready programme.
