Langdon discuss how END Clothing set up a fully-compliant Bonded Warehouse

Fast-growing UK fashion retailer END Clothing approached Langdon with a challenge that many scaling eCommerce brands face: double duty charges on B2C exports and no in-house customs expertise to fix it.

END were recommended to us by a digital freight forwarder and needed support setting up a UK bonded warehouse that wouldn’t slow operations or compromise customer delivery.

The Challenge

Unfortunately, END had:

  • No existing customs warehouse operation.
  • High duty spend on exported goods.
  • A business growing faster than its legacy systems could keep up with.

They were also deep in the middle of ERP and WMS changes, which made integration and operational continuity a real concern, requiring expert management and planning.

Our Approach

After a competitive tender process, we were pleased to be selected as END’s trusted partner. As a starting point, we walked the warehouse floor based in Newcastle to understand their operational DNA, working closely with END’s IT and operations team to co-develop a detailed requirements document.

It was agreed we would provide the following services:

  • Duty Management System
  • Customs Bureau
  • Customs Consultancy.

Building the Solution

As part of the solution, we set about managing a bespoke integration with END’s evolving WMS & ERP, along with a robust parallel run to stress test the data and workflows. This resulted in a smooth go-live with no disruption to customer orders.

The Results

END Clothing now runs a fully-compliant bonded warehouse and scalable customs operation, ready for their next phase of growth.

In fact, END managed £50,000 of duty deferred in the first month alone, as well as £3000 saved on B2C exports.

“Langdon turned a complex challenge into a seamless solution. They felt more like partners than suppliers.”
– Stephen Wilkinson, Head of IT, END Clothing
