Campbeltown Bond to host an open week in June 2026

With the commissioning of the state of the art automated cask storage racking for Scotch Whisky Campbeltown Bond are hosting an open week in June and cordially invite all members of the Bond Warehousekeepers Association to tour the facility and see the robots in action.

Date: Monday 15th June – Saturday 20th June 2026

Location: Gaydon Hangar (Building 292), MACC Business Park, Machrihanish, Campbeltown, PA28 6NU

All casks are stored on their sides meaning the racking system eliminates the need for Forklift Trucks to lift casks in and out of their stow points. From an entry point on the floor, casks are rotated to a bung up position. A grabber then lifts the cask onto the first of 2 shuttles, said first shuttle moves up and down aisles to a central mover aisle.

The second shuttle in the mover aisle controls the level and aisle of the first shuttle via an elevator system. Once in the racking casks are never rolled and remain upright with minimal disturbance to their maturation.

With no inspection or access aisles, the operator interaction required for retrieving casks has changed to selecting the cask details from the Warehouse Management System.
