If you are not familiar with a WOWGR (Warehouse keepers and Owners of Warehoused Goods Regulations), it is a licence that will allow you to store goods, in duty suspension, in a Bonded Warehouse.
On 3rd November 2022, HMRC held a discussion on WOWGR and HMRC’s preferred option going forward. The options include:
Option 1 – Do Nothing
Option 2 – Revoke all WOWGR legislation so it no longer applies
Option 3 – HMRC to consider changing some of the approvals and duty points but continue to register the warehousekeepers.
Option 4 – Extend the scope of WOWGR to include transporters but remove owners of goods and duty representatives.
