The Bonded Warehousekeepers Association is happy to announce Paul Masterton MP as the key speaker for this years Annual BWA Christmas Lunch.

Paul was born in Edinburgh, and after studying Law at Dundee University, spent a short time working in Northern Ireland before settling in Glasgow with his wife and now two children. Prior to the 2017 election, he spent 9 years working as a pensions and long-term savings specialist solicitor at one of Scotland’s leading law firms and was also Chair of his  local Community Council. In Parliament, Paul is the Co-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on British Jews and Surgical Mesh, and Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Democratic Participation. He is an active member of a number of other APPGs including those on Surrogacy, Pensions, Equitable Life, Post Offices and Single Parents.

Paul has been a vocal campaigner on pensions issues. In October 2018, he brought a 10 Minute Rule Bill to introduce a new form of pension scheme into the UK, known as Defined Collective Contribution. This was later adopted as Government policy and a consultation into Collective Defined Contribution Schemes was launched by the DWP in November 2018. Paul has also led a debate highlighting the impact of the tapered annual allowance on senior clinical staff who were members of the NHS Pension Fund and has successfully lobbied the government to undertake a review of annual tapered allowance.

This years event takes place at Merchants House, Glasgow, on 13th December 2019.

Tickets are £78 per person and sponsorship opportunities are also available.
