Plans have been submitted by Stena Line to turn the former aluminium works into a £1bn tech park.
The plan includes a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) scheme, a dedicated area for technology and data centres, and more than 15,000 sq ft of office space.
It is expected that the proposal could create up to 1,200 new jobs on the Island and also support investment in data and renewable energy.
The application is currently being progressed in full accordance with the statutory planning process.
