On Thursday 30th September, HMRC will be providing an overview of the new CDS system.

HM Revenue and Customs recently announced that the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) will replace the Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight (CHIEF) system from 31 March 2023.

BWA and HMRC would like to invite you to an overview session on the Trader Dress Rehearsal service (TDR).

TDR is a free service, designed to help you prepare for making declarations on CDS. Whilst HMRC recommend taking advantage of TDR, importantly, their customers do too – declarants who have tested their submissions on TDR ahead of going live on CDS have found the experience useful. Many reported that they had far fewer rejection rates on CDS, because TDR provided an opportunity to familiarise themselves with new processes.

Should you wish to take part, the informative TDR session will cover:

  • what TDR is
  • key benefits for users
  • how you can integrate TDR into your migration plans
  • support available for declarants

At the end of the session, you’ll also have opportunity to ask any questions.
