Global Network Programme launched

The UK Government has announced a new initiative designed to help British businesses strengthen their understanding of international markets and make better-informed decisions when expanding overseas.

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office’s Global Network Programme will bring together businesses with diplomats, policymakers, international partners and specialist advisers. The programme is intended to provide greater insight into overseas markets, geopolitical and security developments, emerging technologies and other factors that may affect international business activity.

By helping businesses build connections and access international expertise, the initiative aims to support companies as they explore overseas opportunities, develop global partnerships and manage the risks associated with operating in an increasingly complex international environment.

While the programme is not specifically focused on excise warehousing, it may still be relevant to warehousekeepers and businesses supporting the movement and storage of excise goods. Operators working with importers, exporters, brand owners, manufacturers and international supply chains could potentially benefit from improved market intelligence, stronger international connections and greater awareness of overseas commercial and geopolitical developments.
