After almost nine years of ageing, it has been been said that it has rich flavours which include fig, raisin, and notes of oak and red berries.
The new release is limited to just 2520 bottles and can be found on their website.
Scott Ferguson, Head Distiller, said: “Following on from last year’s peated ex-Cognac finish, we wanted to look at something richer with a vibrant fruit character.
We had whisky maturing in Amarone casks which were full of juicy red fruits, almond and black pepper spice. It was an excellent base profile that we then layered with Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez-matured single malts to add syrupy-sweet date, raisin and fig notes.
A final finish in first-fill Amarone casks elevated the lively, jam-like fruits while adding a heady red wine top note and a deep copper colour. The result is a Single Malt that celebrates the flavours and style that Amarone wine casks bring to whisky.”
