Contract extension for Wincanton

Wincanton announce a three-year contract extension and expansion with defence engineering company Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL).

Wincanton said that as a result, their warehousing operations, transport, and packaging services will support the manufacture of Boxer MIV and upgrade of Challenger 3 vehicles for the British Army.

This expansion will also see Wincanton more than double the number of colleagues dedicated to RBSL, developing the skills base of the local communities in which it operates.

Wincanton and RBSL have worked in partnership since 2011, and Carl Meewezen, Managing Director, Public & Industrial, Wincanton said:

“RBSL will continue to benefit from our commitment to operational excellence and specialist domain expertise in inbound supply chain management gained right across the UK’s defence manufacturing industry.”
