Aceo Spirits Launches ‘Osprey’

Aceo Spirits is proud to announce the launch of Osprey, a new brand of single malt Scotch whisky inspired by the wildlife, landscapes and enduring spirit of Speyside.

The inaugural release officially launches on 26 March 2026, during World Osprey Week, celebrating the legendary bird’s successful return to Scotland. Working in cooperation with the famous Loch Garten Osprey Centre in the Cairngorms, sales of Osprey will help support the iconic raptor’s conservation.

Flowing through the heart of Speyside, the River Spey has shaped the region’s natural landscape over eons and in recent centuries, the river and its tributaries have been the main centre of Scotland’s whisky production and rich whisky heritage. Since the 1950s, it has been the home of the fish-hunting hawk. Once extinct in the UK, the osprey’s return to the skies over Speyside stands as one of Scotland’s great conservation success stories.

The Osprey brand captures this spirit, reflecting both the elegance of the bird and the craftsmanship of Speyside whisky-making. Carefully selected and matured, the inaugural release includes:

10-year-old Braeval – matured in Oloroso sherry casks, offering rich notes of cocoa, stewed fruits, walnuts and spice

15-year-old Glentauchers – matured in bourbon barrels, delivering a lighter profile of tropical fruit, honey, citrus and creamy malt

Each whisky has been crafted with a focus on balance, character and provenance — showcasing the very best of Speyside.

Speaking on the launch, Edward Odim, Managing Director of Aceo, said:
“Osprey is a deeply personal project for me. I’ve had a love of birds and wildlife since I was a young lad. Having spent time as a BBC wildlife producer, I had the privilege of making programmes about ospreys. Creating a whisky that brings together whisky and one of my favourite birds, is immensely rewarding. Osprey celebrates whisky and supports one of Speyside’s most iconic returning species — it’s a tribute, not only to ospreys, but to Speyside and what makes the region so special.”

Osprey pays homage to craftsmanship and nature— a whisky that honours its surroundings while delivering a refined and memorable drinking experience. With its roots firmly in Speyside, the brand is designed to resonate with those who value authenticity, love nature and of course… enjoy whisky.

Osprey will be available from 26 March 2026.
