The BWA Christmas Lunch is renowned, among the profession, as one of the networking highlights of the year and many industry leaders were in attendance.

BWA Chairman, Clive Brady, welcomed guests, to The Merchants House of Glasgow, and introduced Richard Paterson, Master Blender of Whyte and Mackay, as the events key speaker.

Richard told the guests about his career, from his first visit to a bonded warehouse (aged 8) to his time with Whyte and Mackay.

Richard also told the group that in current times it is vital for industry professionals to be involved with the BWA, to remain informed, connected and educated.

Following the discussion, Richard celebrated the BWA’s 135th anniversary by talking about the history of BWA and presenting Chairman, Clive Brady, with a special glass decanter, containing a special blended assemblage Whisky, specifically created for the occasion.

The event continued with the annual raffle, with prizes donated by members including Diageo, Edrington, John G Russell Transport, Whyte and Mackay, Great Bear Distribution, Ceva and a Shard cocktail experience donated by BWA.

Further networking opportunities continued, in The Directors Room, with access to a private bar.

The event was not just a festive celebration, but also a great opportunity to hear from an industry expert, network with current partners and meet new contacts.

A great day was had by all.

Thanks to all who attended, Richard Paterson, Merchants House of Glasgow and our sponsors Great Bear Distribution and John G Russell Transport.
